By 2024, the SSGIM will be a leader in patient-centred research.
SSMIG Foundation Grant
The SGAIM Foundation is a foundation of the Swiss Society of General Internal Medicine (SSGIM) with the aim of promoting and supporting teaching and research projects in the field of General Internal Medicine (GIM). It annually awards the SGAIM Foundation Grant in the amount of Fr. 50,000.
SSGIM Award
The SSGIM annually awards the SSGIM Award for the best original scientific paper in the amount of 10,000 Swiss francs.
SSMIG Prix Lumière
Progressive work-time models, measures to promote junior staff members or job sharing: the "SGAIM Prix Lumière" honours innovative ideas in the field of general internal medicine (GIM). The Award (worth CHF 10,000) is bestowed at the SGAIM Spring Congress.
Free Communication, poster prizes and other awards
The SSGIM additionally awards prizes to support young researchers, including the "Free Communication" ("Freie Mitteilungen"; donated by the SSGIM) and prizes for the "Best Posters" (donated by the SSGIM). At the 6th SGAIM Spring Congress, the three best posters of young researchers (pre-graduates) were awarded for the first time (donated by the Swiss Medical Publishers EMH).
Viollier Award
The Viollier Award promotes scientific work. The prize is endowed with CHF 10,000. It is presented annually at the SSGIM Spring Congress.
